Please help,
I need some pictures showing how much ground clearance is lost when installing double diamond type SFCs (SLP, Kenny Brown or RK sports).
My car is lowered about 2inch in front and 1inch at the rear and in http://www.fbody. com I read that some peoples cars ground at every speed bump with those SFCs.
Will the SFC be the lowest part of the car (except the air lid)?
I think these SFCs are more effective than BMRs straight type.

I have only one very small pic of Kenny Brown SFCs installed which does not help.

Send a picture to Gunnar.Lindner@hella.cn!

Thanx!
Gunnar

Gunnar,

I don't have a picture but I also have those SFCs (Kenny Brown DD) and you basically lose nearly no ground clearance.

Ditto you lose virtually no clearance at all.

Well, I'd say virtually no clearance - only slightly ... on my driveway, I hit 'em on the bump coming home yesterday ... I'll see where it hit when I get the rest of the welds done ...

... using wheels to get some clearance for working on the lift :D

Generous amounts of undercoating to keep 'em protected ... :)

I never painted mine... they're all colors: gold, silver, dark grey (from zinc spray applied)

It had a couple rust spots from flying around in the garage for 1 1/2 years; I painted them over with Hammerite before installation ... it were only the places oposite from where the parts had been welded ... wondering why KB didn't apply the coating to the parts AFTER they were originally built ... oh well ... should hold for a while now ... just hoping TÃœV doesn't ask about it :)

Those are the best I have seen. I have a buddy with SLP's and he gave up a bunch and did I mention Heave compared to kenny brown's.

Most SFCs are only straight pieces from front to back AFAIK ... the KB should do a lot more for stability I think ... especially for the 'vert ... can't wait for the driving next WE and Bitburg the WE after that ...

Bolt-ons will eventually losen, but are easier to install ... invest the extra money and get the weld-ons ... also make sure you get the right ones, the Coupe/T-Top ones are different from the Convertible ones ...

I was thinking bout the KB or SLP bolt ons. The weld ons are cheaper but more expensive to install. Anybody has bad experiences with bolt-ons?

Pulled the car out of the garage today, definitely need a second board or something ... I use one for a dip in the driveway right in front of the garage to keep the front air damm from scraping - now I need another one for in front of the driveway - I got the road (going upward, then the rain water duct (about a 1" dip, then up further for another 10in, and then back down again ... I see where I scraped the highst place of that d@mn piece of ground ... a board or something in the rain water duct should keep the rear wheel up high enough for the car not to scrape the SFC ... I guess the extra half inch of the SFC did make a difference in my driveway ... but then, I even scraped the underside of the Beamer there before ... so, no big deal ...
