Hello,

I have seen on lmperfoemance two swaybarkits.

- Spohn Sway Bars 32mm/ 22mm Solid 4140 Chrome Moly
- Suspension Techniques Swaybar kit 35mm/25mm 1993-2002

Bouth sounds good. Do you have good experience or do you know which one are the better choise?

I drive a TRANS AM 1996 with BMR 1" springs, Bilstein shocks, lover A-Arms (rear) and PHR. I have some trouble with the steering and the front swaybar (too much rust and damaged end links). Too much for german TÃœV.

Which one would you take?

Thank you very much.

Daniel

Change the front to a 35 mm and keep the 19 mm in the back.

Get two end link kits also
If I knew the spring rate of your springs I could give you a custom bar selection . But with out it , if yougo to big in the back your car could be a real handful to control in a dicey situation.

I'd do what Roy said, change the front to 35mm, either from Suspension Techniques OR (even better as it is lighter) the hollow bar from Strano Performance (see Jason's link above) -- I have the 35mm ST and it's great.

Thank you all.

Why keep the back org. swaybar and change only the front?

Do I not get a uncontrolled car if I have a strong one in front and back the stock?

I know that the hollow one are ligher, but are they strong like solid one? And what is the diffrent between the hollow and solid?

I know I have much questions.

Daniel

P.S. Which Bushings are good to change the stock Bushings on the front upper and lower controll arms?

Danix you have aset of springs on your car that you donot know the spring rate of or whether their linear or progressive. Just that they give youa 1inch drop. Plus i believe you have a set of poly LCA'a on the rear axle. This a bad thing for cars that want to turn. Poly bushings in LCA's in crease roll stiffness in f bodies. Now put a big rear bar on the back to further increase rear roll stiffness and now you may have a car that is loose or have a tendency to oversteer in certain situations.

Now a bigger front bar increases front roll stiffness which is a good thing up to a certain point. Too much front bar can cause the front inside wheel to lift when exiting a corner under hard acceleration.

anything possible if you don't know the specifications of the products installed. But a lot of folks use the 35/21 or the 35/19 setup.

In order to get near the same strength of a solid bar you have to increase the diameter of the hollow bar. Also the wall thickness of the bar plays an importance part in the equation also.

A good bar manufacturer is ADDCO, Suspension techniques, they sell matched bars for Fbodies.

I have the Hotchkis Sway bars on mine, and noticed a nice improvement of 10-15mph faster on a traffic circle in italy. Went from 50 to 60-65 with no problem, could probably go faster now that I have new tires. 1 7/16 hollow front and a 1 in back
