I just wanted to send a shout out to everyone and give out some compliments on the webpage. This is a great site for such a small gathering. It's sounds like you guys have a lot of fun down there. I wish I could get stationed in Germany. I've only been on the autobahn once when I went to Garmisch. At least I was able to rent a Merc.
I'm from Cincinnati Ohio and I'm in the Air Force stationed at RAF Lakenheath UK. I've owned a 1996 black V6 camaro before but not an LS1. I have a 35th anniv. on order from AAFES. It's going to be built next week and I pick it up in Colorado Springs Colorado in about a month. I can't wait.
Anyway, I'll be around. I check out this site about once or twice a week.

Welcome to the club! Are you going to have the Camaro sent to the UK? If yes, I have the first kill for you: The guy that runs the PX in Lakenheath drives a 99 or 00 Mustang Cobra. Get him!

Good to here of another UK Fbody lover.
I imagine there a few UK folk appearing on the web site because we a re sick of the usual European car trash.
You just can't beat the LS1 V8 muscle.

I'm having the car delivered to Colorado Springs in late December. I'm glad to final be getting it but it sucks that it's during the winter. I didn't want to get it delivered here in the UK because the roads are so bad, I didn't want to kill the suspension (not to mention all of the rain we get). It would've been fun to have it here though so I can show up some of these hot hatches around here who think they are tough. I have seen the guy you're talking about chevythunder. Just the other day I saw him get on it a little bit. All I could do is just shake my head, laugh and think if only I had my SS.
I know there are some tough cars in Germany (Porsches, Mercs, BMWs etc.) but there are a few over here that Vipers and Z06s couldn't hang with. The one that pops into my head is one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. The TVR Tuscan S. Go to TVR's website and check it out. Roughly 2600 pounds with 360 hp. 0-60 in about 3-3.5 secs and the quarter in 12.0 at 120. I want one but they aren't legal in the states yet.

I notice you talk about TVR's.
Have you see the film 'Swordfish' with John Travolta. That film had a TVR Tuscan.
I have driven a 4 litre TVR Chimera. It was very good, awseome performance. TVR do make a very good street race car. The exhaust system make them sound fantastic. However, they are not reliable.
The Chimera and Griffith has an old Rover engine from 4 litre upto 5 litre. This engine was derived from a Buick block many years ago.
More recently TVR developed their own engine, a V8 in the Cebera and S6 in the Tuscan and Tamora. Again these engines are awesome, if only they could improve the quality of build and reliability.
Service and parts are also VERY EXPENSIVE.
I did consider a TVR, but the reliabilty (I Hope) and practicality of the Z28 appealed to my cicumstance. And boy I know now I did make the right decision.
