hello fbodyowners

after 17 years begging santa claus for an american musclecar I buy a Z28 by myself.

My first tour from stuttgart-tuebingen-metzingen-tuebingen-nagold-calw and back to stuttgart was wonderful. Very impressive. I never possess or even drove an american car before.

On the autobahn I pass 200 km/h first time in my life. First of all how fast this car reaches this point is astonishing (or awesome). But yes I was very careful with all the other cars around me and hold enough distance to the other fast cars on the left lane. But it seems they only hurry up to go outta my way -- woohooo cooooool.

After the first week now my early indications point to 12-14 litre fuel per 100 kilometre. Thats less than I expected.

I hope I can arrange it to come to Dasing in May. I live in Stuttgart.

Sorry no pictures (no camera): Imagine a black 2000 Z28 and you know how it looks like :wink: . The "Z" is lowered 4cm (Geiger munich) and have 18er Azev rims. No other mods (till now).

Congratulations on the Z! You'll have fun with, but be careful on the autobahn, 'cause they're not made for sustained speeds of more than about 130! ;)

@all: thank you all for the nice welcome.

@RTZSS: perfect that I am not alone in Stuttgart. I am searching for streets where one can "loosen the Zs reins" :twisted: or cruise. The Solitude racetrack is currently limited to 60kmh. Today the whole track was under police supervision.

@JackZ28: thank you for the clue :shock: . I used the cruise control - 140kmh is a comfortable speed - but then I have to show this "left lane subscribers" a Mercedes T, a SLK and a dressed to kill Calibra the beautiful backside of the Z :roll: . So I let the Z run with 200kmh for a while. At 215kmh the car have little vibrations and I stop to accelerate more and let him fall back to 200kmh. Do I need those SFCs what I read on the board to avoid hazardous situations relating to the fbodys structure ?

@KC10A: thank you. I look forward meeting you too. I will complete my contact informations as soon as possible.

BTW: My spoken english is rusted. My last experience with native speakers is long ago (8 years I think). It remains to be seen if I can follow a conversation in full speed.


Oh 5 hours to the daily humdrum. My best Easter is ending now.

Subframe connectors are a must if you have t-tops or a convertible! They really help stiffen the chassis, and help with handling! ;)

A strut tower brace also helps a lot. The car really drives a lot nicer. I highly recommend getting one.
