I went to Bitburg yesterday for some food and to look around. I didn't even think of the track but I'll see about getting out there. How much to get in? I might be going back to Bitburg to look for a house this week as well.

**Who drives a silver TA w/ black wheels on Spang? Thats the only fbody I've seen so far here on base.

that's cool. Is there any rules/tech inspections that I should be aware of? I don't even have my car yet but for just when it arrives I will need to blow the dust out of it ya know..lol.

For driving (quartermile and AutoX), we use basic safety rules of NHRA/DMSB ... we require helmets no matter what speed, but apart from that, NHRA requirements should be followed ...

**Question**: Where can I pick up this triangle and first aid kit for inspections? I also need a turn signal bulb. Where can I get one? Does everyone just order them online and have them shipped to you or what? I changed it out twice on the day while taking it to the port. The first of the 2 that I removed was literally smoking when I pulled it out, so I put the next one in without the grease as my friend said and it too went out shortly thereafter. Any idea what is wrong? It's the same side that this occurs on, although they both have to be changed everytime I have to drive it through the rain. It seems like if it rains they blow or something. I know that this is one thing that will cause me to fail the inspection (not having a working turn signal bulb) along with not having the triangle and first aid kit. Can anyone help or advise? Thanks.

I only know of the local (to me) parts places. I am sure you have some around you...I just don't know where.

As far as what is wrong, I couldn't tell you without looking at it. Its a long journey, but I am near Ramstein.

Oh yeah, you can get the required safety items at the BX/PX or the base junk yard usually has some for purchase a bit cheaper.

I'm going to look on base for the triangle and kit. Well if I can get a bulb to stay lit in it long enough for inspection then I'll try to make arrangements for someone to look at it. Does anyone else have to change out the bulbs as often as that?

It is funny you ask. My front Lt blinker just went out last night. 2 weeks ago I replaced the rear Lt blinker. 2 weeks before that I changed the Lt fog light. About a month before that I changed the Rt fog light. It seems like I have to change a bulb every month or so.

thats the same problem I'm having..but just with the turn signal bulbs. Its really annoying too. I guess I'll have to go online and order some bulbs to have when they decide to go out. I am not quite sure what the problem is...could be electrical or could be just bad bulb or something...who knows.

Ok now I have another ?. I don't have a spare tire or jack for my car. Would someone be willing to loan me one just for the inspection purpose? I won't use it or anything...just need it for the visual for the inspector. I'm sure it's a long shot but I figured I would ask. If you're willing to help let me know asap. My car failed inspection because of the axle seal leak and no spare tire/jack and the turn signal issue.

I figured out that my socket for the bulb is screwed up so I had to order a new one.

Thanks,
Billy

Hey Billy,

Since my car is down for an engine, you can use my spare setup. I should be back this week, but I am at Ramstein and won't be able to deliver it due to everythign I have going on right now.

Brian I'm very thankful. I can try to get with you this weekend perhaps...well that is if you're back by then. Just send me a pm or give me a call when you can meet up or I'll find my way to Ramstein.(I'll send you a pm with my number). I've never actually drove my car on the Autobahn yet so I'll get a chance to blow the cob webs off of it along the way...lol.
