In the last few month i had a strange problem with my car.
If i fired it up cold it was running just fine.
But sometimes when i started the engine warm it was running like crap, i even could smell fuel. I changed coils (the accel coils i had are notorious for failing under heat), wires, plugs - no change.
2 weeks ago i found out that the connector on the coolant temp sensor broke off and was loose which caused the problem (the PCM assumed the engine was cold and dumped in fuel, it was running pig rich, i guess).
First, I made some temporary solutions, of which none lasted long:
pay attention to the hose clamp, the copper wire and the duct tape
Then I finally got a replacement sensor and tried about 8h to get the old one out, using wrenches, pliers, a heat gun, just brute force
and other sophisticated crap. After that, it looked like this:
And as you can see it didn´t come out, but decided to desintegrate...
But i was not keen on pulling the upper intake, the injectors and the lower intake just to get that stupid sensor out.
So I drove to
OBI and bought some stuff in the "toilet section"

And then I finished the...
...
FLUX CAPACITOR! (anybody remembers "Back To The Future"?)
It bolts right up into the former throttle body heater hoses (which i bypassed anyway) and carries a coolant sensor out of my berettas. (thanks to teflon tape its even leakproof

).
Tomorrow I´ll try to travel back into the fifties, i think.
Hopefully I can hit 88mph somewhere.
Next mods for the car include a fountain and a toilet flush...
