Well, since I never listen to Jack (and this time, it bot me in the ass. Not Jack. Just NOT listening to him) I went to the Nurnburg Ring by way of Manheim. Why did I go to Manhein? I just wanted to see how they were running things over that way. BTW, they are doing a bang-up job!
Anyways, after I found out that I went the wrong way, and kicked a dog that was around, I drove towards Koblenz. Since, I've never been that way before, as I entered the town, I stopped at a gas station. I met some nice and interesting people. (See photo #1) If you look to the left, you'll see that I found the German biker eqivalent to Grizzly Adams. He's probably Grizzley Hans cousin!
As with most Germans that I have met, these were as nice as can be. They directed me further down the road and told me where to exit.
Ok, I get to thr Ring FINALLY! And, it *%&$#@* RAINING!!
Ben was kind enough to take me on a lap while it was wet. Just to get a feel of the course. It was fun.
After the rain stopped and I found out that there is an Esso within 10 minutes of the track, Ben took me for a "good" lap.
I've flown in a F-16 and that plane ride don't come close. I think I left a spot on his seat.
All in all, I had a blast. We should do that more often!
