Well i wouldn't say just that ...
You can say what you want but those guys sure have some mechanical skills to pull that off and i'd rather see them with vehicles like this and promoting their spinner rims and bling bling than to see them wearing bandana's over their mouths with hoods on and sawed off shotgun's sitting in the back of a sliding door SUV ready for a driveby.

They seem to take pride in what they do so they are doing okay in my book.
I recall the Fbody community laughing at the "Rice" community about 10 years ago and saying they would never be fast, now look at the imports today .................... Get my point ?

What's your point? 95% of ricers are still slow, they just got more efficient at making their cars as ugly as possible.

I beg to differ.
Ofcourse you'll find a lot of Ricers that are slow but you'll also find A LOT more fast imports on the streets these days .. A lot more than 10 years ago.
And they are not always tweaked but a lot are very fast out of the box.

The entire Fast & furious hype has resulted in Rice becoming popular and the manufactorers listened and now offer 4 bangers that will smoke most cars on the road.
And let's not forget, certain things that were considered ricey 10 years ago have become quite popular and are now used in US muscle today, for instance Indiglo gauge cluster ---> New Mustang.
Not too mention the comeback of flamboyant decals and badges (see ZO6 style badges).
Certain styling concepts of the Rice era have now evolved and are accepted throughout the automotive industry(2 tone paintjobs, agressive bumpers, DVD screens build in, comeback of spoilers, etc)
It's just a bit more subtle but they have their origin from those Rice rockets.

Every Drawback has it's benefit (and the oether way around)

A ricer is a far cry from a fast import.
