Anybody know any tricks to seperating the lower ball joint or have a ball joint seperater?

Last/only time it's been off, it just poped loose, but i when I put it back together I had some bad information and over-torqued it, so it's stuck on there pretty good

Actually, two big hammers that smack the head of the lower arm simultaneously (from opposite sides). That usually causes the steel (alloy?) to flex and the conical shaft to the ball joint to pop out.

BTW I hate those fork-style separators... somehow they tend to slice the ruber boot of the ball joint (if you want to replace it anyway, it doesn´t matter) - probably i´m also just too stupid to use it, but i now prefer a 2 arm puller...

well, then end of the story

Reason for taking the ball joint off was to get the wheel bearing/hub off so I could put longer studs in to run a spacer with my new calipers and after everything is together, I've got a defective brake line. Going to have to wait a little while longer to have a new lines shipped out. :(

At least the hard part is done :)
