Can we pass inspection with cut-outs?

I added a Moroso Spiral flow to my exhaust to bring the noise down, now it sounds like a normal V8. It's not bad, but definitely not very mean :( I'll try to get it dyno'd again to see what affect it has, but I'm thinking about adding an electric exhaust cut-out to get some ponies back when I want them.

brianterry had one on his T/A, when closed it channeled the gasses thru the muffler, when it was open, it went straight out....as long as it's closed and doesnt leak, I dont think you will have an issue

Thats a darn good question. I have not heard of anyone having problems passing with one. However, I have read the inspection regulation and it so no cutouts can be used. I will probably be testing that reg in the next few months so let me know how it goes :D .

Bringing this back from the dead.

I've tried looking for the inspection regs, I had links saved but they no longer work. Anybody have good links? Is it AER 190-1?

Thanks. Apparently my internet connection just sucks. Every time I try and download a file, my connection gets re-set.

It says no cut-outs, but I have not heard of anyone failing yet. I'll be able to tell you in about a month!

Cool, I guess I can wait a month :) I don't have much room left on my I-pipe so I'm thinking about placing one where the pipe turns to the muffler.

It may be a bit longer because it is shipping from the states. I will let you know though.

Did you get your pinion angle guage?

Ok, so it already has a cut-out and this will be it's first inspection?

Yeah, its an electric one already fixed in place of the Borla plates. I am hoping they will miss it or I can hide it

You could just swap it out with the Borla plate (without the hole) and it will be all good and quiet enough I guess.

It shouldn't be very noticable with the Borla set-up. I should have just bought one of those instead of adding a bullet muffler :(
