Guys, I'm in Naples and I don't know if my clutch is going to bring me back. If you know somebody who is in Naples, please ask them to call or email me ASAP. I'll be in Naples from Mon-Fr and I need find a Chevy dealer who can get and install an LS7 clutch, a GTO clutch is my back-up.

My little vacation could be a hassle soon, any help is appreciated. Please call me or email if you have info. 0160-449-7353. a10beav@yahoo.com

thanks.

... if it is ADAC Plus ... they can also take care of getting spare parts to you, though you will still have to pay the price ... which will no doubt be a lot higher than if you'd get it from the States ...

Comparison

Well, I left the car in Florence. I found a shop that works on Vettes but they also do Lambo's and other exotics. They'll probably have to buy the part form the states and it'll have to be over-night shipped to get me back in time. This is going to be one expensive clutch!

The timing sucks, but I don't have many choices. At least I'm not trying to put a kid through college or something

I wish I could have helped you out. Would it have been better if you ordered the parts and had them shipped directly to the shop?

Wouldn't ADAC Plus even have towed your car home?
They at least do that in germany if it isn't fixable locally,
which is pretty easy with american cars, in my case 5 years ago:
"What is it?"
"A Pontiac Firebird with a broken clutch."
"Ok, we tow you home, you get a rental." - no discussion at all

I wish it were that easy. First, I had to try and explain what a clutch was and I asked for them to help me find a garage. I never heard from them, so I found this place on my own. Then it took several phone calls and a few hours to get a rental car. I doubt they would pay for tow from Italy though, it'd probably take 12 hours for a truck to get it back.

I should find out later today if my car will be ready, otherwise I'll be making another trip to Florence next weekend to get the car.

ADAC Plus will put it on a train and get it back to you. They are also supposed to set you up with the rental car as well. That is what they get paid for. It is what they did for me last time.

Well, I'm back but the car is still in Florence. ADAC is paying for a rental, but now I have to drive back to FLorence this weekend to get the car. I thought they would be able to get a ZO6 clutch in europe faster than they did, it didn't arrive until Friday. I probably could have had the car on Sat but they had to order a new flywheel. I knew it needed an LS2 flywheel and I thought I had one; I was wrong.

Since the car was already at a shop they wouldn't ship it by train. If I knew that were an option to begin with, I probably would have gone that route. The ZO6 clutch isn't the best option out there, I just thought it was the best option for such short notice.
