you must make a contract with him and then drive directly with the buyer and the car to the next tax-station (Zollamt), because he must pay 10 % "Zoll´" and 19% "MwSt.". That is very importend for you.

IIRC, you need to get a certain form first, and have the sale approved ... that form has to be given to German customs ...

Fly tech go to your US customs office with the agreed upon sale price . That is a very important part since the US customs Office will type it in and that is the price that is taxed. You will have to take the 4 forms and the buyer to the ZOLLAMT . When there you will get the 4 forms stamped by the ZOLLAMT. Ensure you take off the USAREUR Plates and turn them into vehicle registration with your copy of the stamped customs form so you are relieved of responsibility of this vehicle. That is it in a nutshell.
