I just noticed that obviously my pinion seal is going bad. I've always had very very small drips on the floor where the rear axle/diff is but now they are bigger and I see that fluid is on the exhaust (just where it goes over the rear axle).

Do you think I can go to the track tomorrow or should I rather not drive around a lot before I repair this?

Fluid may be getting low. Best to repair it.

Yes, that's maybe better.
I just read that this can also be a missing plastic vent on the diff. I'll have to check this out to be sure what's the real cause...

On my 93 the pinion nut came loose. I really did not want a rebuild so it wasre-torqued to get it to stop. Obviously, this is not the best avenue, but it worked great for me. It only made a little more noise while driving.

Oh... OK... But I think I'll rather rebuild it as more noise from the rear axle is no option for me. It already makes a lot of howling noise at certain speeds.
