Has anyone of you ever removed the ABS module (EBCM)?

Removal itself is not a problem, however, I've read the following instructions:
"To install, clean BPMV gasket surface with alcohol.
Install NEW wave spring(s) in original location and position between
EBCM and BPMV. Install EBCM to BPMV. Install 4 NEW top mounting screws
and tighten in an "X" pattern. Install 2 NEW bottom screws and
tighten."

Why NEW screws and NEW springs?
Is this the same as with the screw/bolt that holds the brake caliper that SHOULD be new when changing pads/rotors but can be reused without a problem?

Thanks! :)

Ben
The new screws and springs come with the new EBCM. So naturally you would replace the small hardware . Are you replacing your EBCM?
I can't comment on the reuse.
But I can comment on the brake caliper bolts. The only reason GM wanted you to get new bolts, is because of that little bit of LOCtite that is on the bolt.

Thanks Roy.
No I'm no replacing but kind of "rebuilding" the EBCM. I'm now ~100% sure the problems I have are a fault in the module itself. I've found a company that repairs those modules:
http://rhelectronics.de/

Common problem with my kind of EBCM (on their website): "Radsensorfehler, oft sporadisch" (wheel sensor problem -- every once in a while) sounds familiar to me.

A Tech II can perform the tests to ensure it is EBCM

Sure? The problem is that I cannot provoke the problem that I have. It just happens sometimes...
