5.7L wanted, complete turnkey minus the tranny to fit in 2001 Firebird convertible...to do engine swap....also looking for relatively low miles on it...maybe 50K or under - I guess that part is negotiable.

So maybe a bird or maro that was wrecked but has a good engine.

But would you go through all that trouble again, Jens? ;-)

I know I would. If you drive a sports car you at least want it to live up to that rep. I couldnt stand getting smoked on the autobahn by a BMW or Audi. I have swapped out 4 motors in my car now I think I might be happy with this one for at least a year.

I would never do this again. It was to much trouble, to do the wap. I think, in USA it would be much easier than here in germany. Because you can find much more information in the states. Also the TÜV here in gemany was very expensive.

But also i´m glad, that i have done the swap. Driving a LS1 is much more fun than V6

Actually, in the states hardly anybody does that swap as there are enough V8s around to get it cheaper and easier than to convert ...

yes, i agree, if i was in the states it would be easier....and junk yards galore for the parts you need. Easier to get a crate engine as well...

Just figured if there was something here that was within a price range it could be done.

I can get you a crate motor just tell me how fast you want to go and how deep your pocket is.
