still need to figure out details, but just in case - does anybody happen to have a fuel tank flying around that will fit a 2000 F-Body?

I had one, was it in the black camaro's trunk? ...still in there when S!mon took it, then. Got to ask him, I am sure he does not need two.

What happened?

'hawk seems to have a small leak somewhere on top - only noticed since it was completely filled ... (which I did after coming home from Bitburg)
Guess will have to drop the rear end some time soon and see where it's coming from ...

Why was there a 4th gen fuel tank in the trunk of the black 3rd gen?

Hm ... I'll check the parts manual and see if there are different part# listed ...

Edit: 99-02 Camaro seems to be the same, no different versions listed ... now if I knew whether the Firebird uses the same tank as the Camaro ... *gg*

Anyway, 02 lists another fuel tank with "L36" ...

don't know if it was a 3rd or 4th gen, but it seemed not to be very old, and since I don't know where it came from...

The 99 fuel tank should fit. The camaro and Firebird are the same. The tank is made of plastic.

@ Garry,
It is probably just one of the many plastic hoses on top of the tank leaking. It is a pain to get the tank out but it is way easier than the old metal tank. Good luck.

Well, finally took a look at the tank ... looks like one of the heat shield started rusting through, and the exhaust started melting the fuel tank
So, a replacement it will have to be ...

Anybody happen to have a spare, or know of a car to part out?

Goal is 12.99 or better for the Pro E/T Series ... dunno if I can make it on street tires though ... well, I'll see ...

Street drags would be a possibility, but I don't think the 10bolt can really take it ... hope I don't tear up the rear with what the motor will be dishing out ...

I'd start saving for a rear end now. It's just a matter of time.

Thanks a lot ;)
Nah, I guess as long as I stick to street tires, I shouldn't be in too much of a problem ... oh well, and if it does break, Ford it is ... ;)
