All I can say is good luck!

It would be better to find one in the states and have it sent over here.

I shipped an LS1/T56 combo over from the states. With the EURO kicking our butts right now, it was way cheaper to do it this way, even with the shipping.

Hey Kent, what was your shipping cost and what kind of address did you use?

I shipped it to my local German address... door-to-door pick up (very nice) through BAX Global. Schenker handled it once it arrived in Germany - very fast, very professional. My local address was about 31 km south of Stuttgart off the A81.

I paid around $1400 for the whole service, which was a large crate (48"x48"x80") that weighed over 1100 pounds. Complete LS1 w/T56, radiator, fuel lines, driveshaft, subframe, transmission brace, etc. I believe the LS1 w/T56 weighs in much closer to 700-800 lbs.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I was quoted around $1200 for sea freight, which they said would take 6-8 weeks. The BAX guys had it to me in a week.

That isn't bad at all. Did you have to deal with hazardous cargo at all? I was having problems shipping a used engine because it had haz in it at one time.

It had to be drained of all fluids of course, but I think that was what drove up the cost - there was an extra charge for hazmat. BAX is really good, but since I went through the dealer/shop in the states, they already had an account with BAX.... not sure if it made things easier or not.
