I'm thinking about buying an original 1960's Mini in decent shape, a Cooper would be nice. Seen any?

I've got a classic body Mini. It isn't that old though.
Couple things to note: -they are the same body through 2001! -They ALL rust -25 years and older can go back to the states.
and no, I have not seen any that you are looking for.

Do you have one of the Rover Mini's? I recently learned they kept making that body for so long!

Yeah, I didn't realize that either until I bought one. It is an Austin Mini, automatic 998cc.

No, I haven't picked one up yet. I just think it would be something fun to have and there aren't too many of them in the states.

Thanks for the link. It doesn't look too bad, but I was looking for a car that's running; I'll need to ship it in 5 month. I may go look at this though.
Brian, how do I know it's not a "late model" mini? Do you think $1500 is a decent price if it isn't running?

If that is the case, as long as it is 25 years or older you are good to go. You are leaving around the time I am....so, 85 or older and it is good to go back to the states. Mine is an 86 so it will technically be 6 months too new to go back with me. I am working on that though. a10beav wrote: Do you think $1500 is a decent price if it isn't running? For some reason the link is not working for me any more. From what I remember it looked decent for the price, but it was definately a project. If you would like to stop by my house I can show you exactly where to look for the possiblity of rust using mine as the example

Thanks Brian. I'm thinking this may be better as a parts car, no dash and probably not running. I think I'd rather start with one that's been partially restored/rebuilt.
