Mythbusters used an early 4th gen Firebird for testing a myth on the latest episode ... trying to see whether a burnout could actually light a tire on fire ...

Apart from the tire bursting into pieces (that tore off the rear bumper cover), all they got was the rubber residue catching on fire by itself after about 30-60 minutes ... the tire would burn even with fuel and sparks ...
