What I am getting at is the hd is valved for a 280 lb spring for astock fbody, hochobee your stock spring is 360 lb spring . Your original decarbons are the same ones used in the 1le option for mid 96.
Basically what you feel in the seat of the pants is the eibach progressive rate of the springs.
Ihad to switch back to my Decarbons , because my HDs were wore out after 5,000 miles, decarbons were remarkably better.
I turned my HD's into strano motorsport had them revalved with more damping to handle a 500lb spring.. If you get them revalved to your spring rate and your proposed driving style . there is a noticble difference.
Just 02.cents of experience here ,been there done that .

Bilstein HDs and Eibachs are really no good match, same problem here.
I have now 25000 miles on that combo and it was getting just more harsh and uncomfortable from day to day.
How much is revalving?
But I guess i will just swap the bilsteins (edit: NOT "eibachs" of course) for some other shocks...

With properly valved shocks, there is really nothing even remotely comparable for the price.. We're talking around $700 for custom valved shocks and springs, so unless you plan to spend well over $1K, you won't get anything better!

Chris , you can get your shocks revalved here in Germany , I know Bilstein GMBH ( which is part of krups)has a motorsport section , whether they will do it or not is another thing. But if you have them matched to your spring rate and say roadcours or auto cross type driving , they will seem even harsher.
