as many of you know, I have a purple/blue '99 T/A (vilseck clan #46, second edition)which is not modified yet.
I have a co worker who a few months back acquired a very modified '98 SS also.
I have been looking around, but I value your input and advice on what I am going to ask...
my co worker is looking for equipment that can give him a visual readout, like a flat screen monitor attached to his dash, above the gearshift, that can give him a visual readout of all engine systems, and to customize or tailor the set up/ settings/ tune/programming to include diagnostic analysis.
I however, am just looking for basic mods, and the most hassle free way of doing it. I have been looking around, but I want to hear what you guys have to say.
I do want to strengthen the chassis, derestrict intake (K&N) and exhaust.
My goal is to improve on the characteristics of the performance, not significantly change or alter it.

For the electronics portion yor friend can use LS1edit and Autotap for windows on a small laptop with the view screen detached and mounted where he wants it . Have the laptop configured to self boot into the programs .

For ease of use of their website, swift service and value for money, I've got to go with BMR. When I was looking round for stuff, I found it difficult to find one supplier who did everything I wanted, still less a supplier who actually wanted my money. Overall, in terms of shipping cost alone, BMR are unbeatable.
How much you want to spend is up to you but I would recommend the chrome-moly options to save weight. For my money, the lower control arms were the best part of the whole mods.

For the intake, I would recommend a lid although I've never tried one. I like the K&N FIPK and it probably fits a lot better than some of the lids but it sucks hot air from under the bonnet unless you drill the base. Just don't order from Jim Pace. He may be cheap but he gets the orders wrong and if he does, doesn't like rectifying them.
I got my Bilstein suspension kit from http://www.performancecenter.com. The kit may not be the best (although I've not noticed any problems to be honest) but it was by far the best price. Sure, you can have a Sam Strano revalve but it will cost a lot more.
Then upgrade your brakes as the stock LS1 system leaves something to be desired.

Just so everyone knows you can buy your Bilsteins and Konis here in Europe and save between 100 and 150 dollars . Plus you don't have to worry about shipping.

Sven: Borla exhaust... it's adjustable!
Kenny Brown Double Diamond Subframe Connectors help against chassis flex.
A big improvement also made the 35mm front swaybar (Suspension Techniques).
Roy: Are you sure? I mean was it like this when you bought your Bilsteins? I recently asked a Koni dealer about the prices for Koni shocks for my Camaro and they were actually more expensive than the "US shocks" (e.g. sold on http://www.lmperformance.com).

SVEN, I like the Borla on my T/A, and I love the KB DD SFC. The susupension I have is Bilstein and Eiebach, BMR and G2. All of it works fine for me. Then again, I dont race on the track, but I could.

I purchased mine in Wiesbaden at Colleurs auto salon . Ben should know where it is at.
The reason they are cheaper is there built here in Germany (Bilsteins) Konis are built in Holland. Knock off the Tax and it is cheap.

I forgot, my co worker is looking for a blue light illumination for the instrument cluster......But I am sure it is already covered here.
