does anyone know how much gear oil and how much transmission fluid for a 6 speed goes into a 2000 pontiac TA.
I decided to try Royal Purple fluid exchange. Man, this is some expensive stuff.
radiator, oil, transmission, and gear fluid = $150.00

You will need two bottles for the rear diff fluid. I am not sure on the manual transmission fluid though. It should state the tranny fluid info in your service manual.

There was a holden TID which said to remove reserve lockout solonoid to fill as normally you fill to the level of the fill hole, but the trans was so noisy.
So basically you need to fill above the fill level!
Not sure how much that is. Just a fyi on fill levels. Thats on the M6 BTW

T56 M6/fluid capacity is 4 quarts or 3.7L. Good luck with the Royal Purple . Alot of people have grinding problems after switching to RP D3 Syn.

I've used the Royal Purple in my 6 speed, it was not a good thing. I started to have problems after that with grinding as Roy stated. As for the diff, it should be just fine.

GM Syncro mesh or Red Line in the tranny. I don't care for RP for tranny/gears but for the engine it's not too bad I suppose.
4qts for the tranny and 2qts for the rear a little more if you have a aftermarket TA cover.
