you guys have got to figure out a better anti scam/spam protection....cant you make it so guests cant post....and have moderator approval for all members?

They're no "guest" as such - they're going through the registration, doing the email confirmation, whole 9 yards ... I'm hoping for some kind of "distributed spam-word list" on the new software that would take care of these kind of posts ... maybe do as if at accepted the post, then turn around and delete both the poster and the post a couple seconds later ... For now, I just keep deleting these a-holes and banning their email domains from being used for registering ...

Btw, just added something that should make the spam posts uninteresting for first-time spammers. For several posts, they are not allowed to post any URLs ... of course, this may lead to a couple "junk-posts", see how that turns out ...

Only time will tell on that.

Hm .. lookin' good, test forum already has the recognition in, need to do some polishing before I can let it out ...

Gettin' somewhere ... this will be pretty sneaky, and it will take a couple spams to actually "tune" it, but should clean up the whole business pretty soon ...

Well, antispam measures are in place, got to see what it does ...
