Yes you can unplug the wires and it will disable it. One day when your down here Ican disable it , unless you already have a tuning program.
Are you gonna have te check engine light working?

is it a 98 PCM?
If you just unplug it, you will get an SES light ...

There's multiple ways to fix that:
- pull the plug, works, but you get the SES
- DIY-solution with a small resistor, will work, but usually can be spotted during inspection (if you care)
- pre-made plugs that go in between the PCM cable and the tranny, hard to spot if it's built professionally with the original plugs
- re-configure the PCM to stop messing with the solenoid (stock config on Euro-Models) - I can do this for any 98 LS1 PCM ...

There is an easier way. Just leave it in first gear a little longer. Once you get to a certain speed, the skip shift goes off. I ordered the CAGS from SLP and it works great. Plug it in and you're done.

does the fact that the engine warning light comes on, allso reduces power / eg. engine limp mode ?
roy , can you alter things in the ECU like you did with yours (injection timing, fans, ignition timing) without a special chip installed, eg with the original chip form the factory in the ECU ?

No, this sensor should not cause any problems ... again - what year is the engine/PCM?

Garry
It will depend on what code it is , whether it will reduce power or not.
I know Garry and I are both running EFI LIVE . and if its a 98 PCM the licenses are free. 99 and newer the license cost 100 dollars. Word has gotten around that I have a tuner . So I have been doing tunings for the cost of a license for 99 and up.
No special chip necessary for tuning.

not sure if it is a 98 or 99
it does have center mounted rockercovers.
sorry for me being a complete idiot, but what do you mean exactely with " license cost 100 dollars" or licence is free ?
do i have to buy a code (licence) from gm in order to unlock the PCM ? is that what you mean
thanks

Sounds like you have a 99 PCM setup.
The license is for EFILIVE to tune a 99 and up PCM. EFILIVE Sells them but the only person that can buy that Digital LICENSE (basically a bunch odf digits) is a person with a EFI. It part of the money/scheme that EFILIVE uses.
