Hey guys, My 98' Z28 is just sitting now due to a horrible mistake on who ever installed the park plugs last. We were driving home on the Autobahn and some old lady driving nausioulsy (sp) slow in an old Mercedes finally moves over to the right, no one in our way anymore, so we punch it and BAM we now have a sudden loss of power and a horrible loud popping noise that makes everyone look at the car for the wrong reason. So we get home, see what happened (thought it was more of the exhaust manifold gasket gone as it was starting to go and making a little tick anyways) But it turns out a spark plug shot out! So i wait for it to cool down, remove the AIR pipe and try to get that sucker in, only to find out it only slides in and out of the threads. I "calmly" go get a new spark plug i had laying around and it doesnt work either! Then reality sets in that my threads on the head are shot due to someone not knowing what they are doing and probably cross threaded the thing.

SO NOW TO MY QUESTION! Does anyone know where i can get a stock drivers side head? i dont care if it's used, i'll be upgrading maybe summer of 09... i would have upgraded with a heads cam pack if this would have happened mid summer this year, but you know, timing is everything, and timing is a bitch!

How much you want for them? AND these heads are the same as the stock 98' LS1 heads right?

Hm ... I remember something about different bolt patterns, though I'm not sure whether that was on the heads or something else ...
Roy?

Its different valve cover bolt pattern. You should be able to get that sparkplug hole helicoiled for about 40 Euro.

You should have perimeter bolt valve covers. When I come over, we're removing a perimeter bolt valve cover motor. Dont know what the owners gonna do with it. Post up if you still need one. I'll be there in a week. You can contact me then if you still need one.

That is why I rely soley on a GM/Opel dealer .. I just can not deal with any headaches, and I do not have time to work on it myself.
