How is your oil looking when you change it?

The pressure is good then. What color is it when you change it? Have you noticed any flakes in it?

Nooooo. I am sorry to hear that. That is exactly what I was afraid of for you. I am guessing they are goldish flecks.

Should be rebuildable at least.

Yeah the only thing to do now is baby it until i get back to the states this year. I did put in some LUCAS Oil so hopefully it'll help. The knocking is only slight so it is not a banging sound. We'll see:-(

Ok, after listening to the motor, i hear the (woodpecker) higher up in the engine...the question is will Cam Shaft bearings or worn rockers cause the molybd... looking grease on the oil pan magnet?... i want to trouble shoot this before i replace parts. I hear no difference in the engine under normal driving conditions, just when it's cold and its under a little load... but it's a woodpecker speed knocking vs the slow thumping of the crank. i am hoping valves or push rods... vs the bottom end, but no telling where the residue can come from. Any help would be appreciated.

With what you described it definitley sounds like Rod bearings. Hard to tell over the internet without listening.

Are you sure you are not getting coolant in the oil if you are saying it looks like a moly grease?

Ok Roy.

No there is no coolant in the oil. It's normal. It just sounds as though it's aropund the cam vs the crank.

Thanks again guys. BTW working 12s right now so i couldnt even drive to Bitburg if i wanted....

Thay moly looking paste is sludge and babbit material. Babbit is the sliverish color of your bearings.
If the compression is solid why not do just rod and main bearings on it, while it is over here.

Talked to my friend in Zell and it will be too much money doing the euro thing. Also i am leaving in Aug and gotta save up money to ship it and the pets...
I hear there are a couple of spots in K-town that ship cheap! But i think i want to just get a container and call it good.
