If I get a wicked high RPM race only cam do I have to have my computer retuned to adjust for it? I have a 94 with OBD1 not that crappy 93 S/D bullshit computer

Even if you get a so-so cam like a CC305 or a HOTCAM you will be giving up about 30%(my guess only) of its potential. If you get a "wicked high RPM race only cam" then you will have to get equally wicked springs and PCM for it to survive and perform

ok lemme clarify im dumb so im not getting you lol :) If I get a wicked high RPM cam (and the high pressure springs to go with it so the valve dont float) will the car still run right? will I slow down? can I race it without the computer getting reprogrammed and plan on having it done later?

didnt mean to get so wordy :)

Basically if you put a cam in you will want to get the PCM re-done, or you'll leave alot of power on the table.

I havent heard of any problems with stock PCM and aftermarket cam, but its just not using the added lift/duration as effectively as it could.
