Its winter so now is the time to fix everything, I'm getting a real bad squeak from my belt. The belt was replaced about 150 miles ago. I've narrowed it down, when the heater is on the belt squeaks. It seems the AC pump is locked up or something. Anybody have any suggestions or quick fixes??? Is it possiable to bypass the pump without a lot of hassle?

What do you mean by free wheeling? When the heater/ac if off there is no squeaking. Plus, I've ran the car about 15 miles today and it hasn't squeaked once with the heater on??? I don't know if the car just wants attention from me or it actually has a problem (and before you laugh, cars have hearts too!!!).

Well it definately is not locked up or it would of smoked that belt in two in a matter of minutes.
It more than likely is improper belt tension ...
a. belt is just a hair too long or
b. automatic tensioner is getting weak. or
c. grease or contaminate on the belt.

The belt is the right size, and it looks prettly clean. The tensioner pulley seems ok too. With any of these things you listed, wouldn't cause the belt to squeak non stop?

IF your trying to kill power to the AC clutch , look for a wire connector comming from the the A/C and disconnect it.
I can't tell you anything about the A/C relay . I donot have a schematic handy to view.

You're right Roy. I disconnected the ac clutch connector and no squeaking now. Thinking about dropping the whole ac unit all together. Might be a few pounds lighter.

The AC clutch is a easy repair job . The clutch usually runs around 100 dollars and usually can be replaced with out discharging the system. Good luck with ever way you choose. I always had the badluck of removing the AC and get assigneed to someplace like Campbell or bragg and the humidity kicks my asss.
