Well I have come up with the folowing formula to explain what happenned.
115,400 miles + 500 passes down the track * 7,000 RPM (accidentally had shifter in 2) = Spun bearing, bad rod knock.
Well, it's about that time, time to rebuild my stock LT1...
I blew it up last night and got it out in 4 hrs today...here is the plan
Sounds lame but I need a close to stock LT1 to run it....(however these guys manage 470hp doing this)
punch out .030,
Blue print bottom end,
Run .002 clearance on Rods, and .0025 on the Crank <---Loose bottom end,
Low Drag Rings,
Lunati Forged pistons,
Angle mill heads to stand ports up straighter,
51cc Chambers
have intake matched,
Lunati Cam <---- Stock on paper but not near a stock cam!
3 angle Valve Job
125lb valve springs
acid port heads <------This is illegal but impossible to detect!
I will get started tearing the motor down tommorrow

stuff happens I guess. I got a couple ?'s for ya, but I dont have my thoughts organized yet (imagine that ).
My lil "happy hooker engine puller thingy" came in the other day, so I will try my hand at lifting out a lt1, should be worth a laugh or two!
sorry to hear about the misfortune, let us know how it goes.
Rob

No ROB NOOOOOOO!
DO NOT! lift an LT1 out
pulling a 6 cylinder out the top was almost impossible....
here is what u do.... ift the car as high as u can and put jackstads on all 4s
remove battery
Remove hoses and radiator,
Remove alternator,
Unplug Every connector and move the wiring harness to the side,
Take out the driveshaft,
take off the torque arm,
place a jack under the tranny and unbolt the crossmember,
loosen the master cylinder,
Unbolt the shock towers,
place a pallet jack and pallet under the motor/tranny
remove the 6 cross member bolts,
remove the battery power cable from the red oval thingy,
slowly lower the motor/ tranny to the ground
Lift the car about 4 feet,
Thats it.... 4hrs (with all hand tools) and I took my sweet ass time, u try doing it through the top it will take u at Least 6 and ALOT of frustration/breaking stuff
Unbolt the power cable from

Spun 2 Rod bearings and 3 main bearings,
7,000 RPM = bad for old motors
