Me and my friends all wanna know. If Im making 525 hp N/A and runing...say...10.7s How long would the stock rear with 28 inch tires and 4.10 gears last?
the rear has 75 passes with a stock LT1, 29.5" tires, and 4.10 gears + 115,400 miles exactly

would it even last 5-10 trips to the track?
and how about would it last a 9 second blast on NOS?

Well
If you break a axle or explode the rearend and you can't stop fast enough ,you get a free fender flare job by GM courtesy of the 10 bolt.

No. Automatic will help but still no. I'm not going to try it with slicks on my low compression motor without the supercharger. My setup should put about 330hp or maybe 350hp tops to the ground. I bet $100 that it would break with street tires when I put the D1 on. I'm buying the 9" first.

Hard to say. Of course its not an "if" but "when". If you take the slack out of the drive train you could probably get away with it for alittle while. Its my theory that your not breaking the rear out right with power, its that little bit of slack when everything slams tight under power that is breaking the glass 10 bolt. Your launching off a convertor and the brake, not unleashing 4k+rpm drop clutch launches.

You could put little stickers on your window for every launch it survives. Maybe you could make drag racing ace

   Your asking what??? You'll be lucky if you can get it off the trailer. Frankly I'm suprised that it hasn't blown up yet! That rear must have been put together P E R F E C T to have survived this long. Like RobH put it, it's not if but when. I like the sticker idea. See if someone will sponsor you for each pass that you can make on the stock rear  Have fun... :burnout:

running with c-clips and slicks could cost more than a new rear. Just be careful would hate to see ya hurt your car or someone else.
