It fit any LT1 it'll just have to have the dowel pin adjusted for the 93-94 yr model. I believe it needs to be shortened.

it came out of an 94, you either shorten the dowel, or swap to a vented opti (<- better choice). If you want, I can call the local bone yard, they have about 10 LT1 long/short blocks, and I'm sure they have a stocker. The Hot Cam is gonna cause extra spending, like programing too.

Anyway, has about 500 miles on cam and springs. $175 including shipping.

The springs are right at maxed out for the HOT CAM. I have read both ways about the springs, and alot of people are caught up in the idea that the more spring pressure the better.

If a person was gonna live in the 6.5-7k range then the springs may poop out on ya. But for a street car, it is a matched set. That has been my expeirance and alot of other peoples as well.

I'll get that out to ya Bruce, the cam will hit first, and the springs a day or two behind, cause they are still on my heads :). My addy will be with the cam, then you can send the check.

if your interested in the old vented opti I took off the car, $50

It ran fine on my car, but I bought a new one because the plastic snout on it was broke (give pics if you want) and it always bugged me. You will need a 95+ opti for the Hot cam. If you want a new one, you know to call Dal. I'd have to review the receipt, but I think it was around 180. Also the harness is a bit differant, but its fairly cheap, 20bux or so.

also, I meant to ask ya. I have a set of comp pushrods 7.250 .080 and a set of comp pro lifters that are destined for the trash heap. Nothing wrong with them, but I have a slew of new comp stuff and dont need them. You want 'em? I'm not trying to dig some more $$$ from ya, they're free, but I'm not gonna send them if you are gonna trash them.

BTW Dude you gotta see the port job on my heads, I'll send a couple of pictures. I dont know what they flow, and could care less. But I'm afraid I got way to much head now (maybe I dont :) ) Anywhooooo its a good job and I think you'll like to see it.

Peace
Rob

Yes I want the cam push rods lifters. I need your address so I can put the check in the mail. I was planning on using the stock opti why would I have to change the opti for a cam? Could you get it in the mail as soon as possible and I will send you a check from me.

BTW you can never have to much head. Now it is possible to have enough motor under the head. Just ask Nascar those guys spend $20,000 for a set of heads and 4x on team head development. Last I heard they were making around 800 Hapees.

The cam will be in the mail by lunch, and the rest will follow the next day. I want to make sure the cam reaches you, before you make payment. It took along time when I sent Jeff the tires and rims (although, that was during the big terror scares)

It should hit by the end of this week, early next week. My address will be in the cam box, and then we can settle up.

1. I mailed the cam at lunch, the springs/lifters/pushrods will go out tomarrow.

the opti dilema (this is from memory, so bear with me) the 94 opti has a little dowel with gear teeth cut into the opti side, it fits into the 94 cam. A 95+ opti is driven by the dowel on the cam, and has its own little dowel built into a round clover leaf looking thing. If you want to use the hot cam with a 94 opti, you'll have to grind off the dowel pin (not sure if that works, btw) thats the price you pay for a 96 model year cam.

To convert you'll need a couple things, a differant opti of course, a vent tube (actually 2 tubes) one for the intake bellows, and one that hooks up on the manifold. also the electrical hook up is differant, and you need that as well. Withouth the cost of the opti, 50bux tops.

The benifits are worth it, IMHO. You get a vented opti that is documented to outlast the 93-94 model. After that, its just a hop skip and a jump to knock the gear out for the water pump, and throw an electric one in, then of course....................heheheh, hey its an lt1, it needs all the help it can get, right? :)

I am just going to grind the dowel off and install it that way. How much power gain can you expect from a hot cam what are the specs on it. Thanks.

specs are:

218 / 228, .525 / .525 112 LSA Lift #'s w/1.6 Rockers

if i had to gues on power, I would say 30hp without tuning, and close to 50hp with tuning. Could be way off, but that is my feeling. Im sure you know that a LT1 has 1.5rockers, btw.

Jeffs car was basically a hotcam car, and ran hard as hell, so there is power there.

Good deal. I'm glad it made it. If your wondering, it had a coat of WD40 on it, so that was the liquid if there was any left.

The springs/lifters/pushrods went out the next day, so you can take that for what its worth. It should be there very soon (hopefully)
