Has anyone ever had the problem of the SES lighting up then kicking on the high speed fans? I know the fan sensor is located on the water pump housing on the LT1. Could this be the culprit? I had the codes scanned it it came up with a code 29- Secondary Air pump inop and a code 42- Ignition problem. I don't see where any of these codes would cause the fan to come on. It really drains my battery and causes the car to run a little rough. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I had to replace my air pump due to this. No big deal.

Even when I remove the fan relays the computer overrides them and turns the fans on. My car does not have an air pump because I removed it when I installed the long tube headers. The air pump will cause the computer to kick on the fans?

My fans came on all the time (sometimes with a SES) or just sometimes when my coolant temp sensor was loose / broken...
Its some kind of emergency procedure to prevent the engine from overheating because the pcm doesn´t know the coolant temperature.

Anything is possible. A taillight bulb that has been removed will set off your airbag light. :?

Same problem here...

My car always blows that 20 Amp Air Pump fuse and then the SES light comes on when driving and the hairdryer starts up.

Funny thing is: Only when driving.

As soon as i stop on a stoplight, after about two seconds SES goes off and after about 10 seconds of idling the fans stop. Funny thing.

Goes i have bad air pump? Didn´t even know i need sumthing like this :)

Rampage,
I have an air pump sitting in my basement. I do not need it now. I would give it to you. I actually fixed mine the other day. I just put the air pump relay back in and hooked up the EGR Valve. Problem solved. Goes back to my old saying that I seem to never follow "Leave well enough alone!"

For the darn fans to stay off. Or any way to bypass it :)

Also you are wrong. I do have a cat. She´s 5 years and black and white, maybe she´ll need it.

J/K, i guess i´ll return some things to stock, especially if i want the car to be registered normally someday in the far future...

Blowing up your cat (to double size or whatever) is for sure against the law

Actually she´s asthmatic, so already heavy breathing...

Wanted to give her some performance intake, too!
