Well I went w/ the AMW catch can to close off the breather's I was running. Entire PCV system was in place like stock. Well apparantely the girl don't like it because anything above 5 grand and she would blow the dipstick right out the tube! Path of least resistance. I thought I blew a head gasket at 1st looking in my rear view mirror.

Anyone else ever here of having too much pressure in the crankcase? I know I've read it somewhere before.

So I'll be putting a breather back on and test it out one more time. Good thing I keep my old parts. LOL

blow by is the only thing that I can think of that would cause alot of crankcase pressure.

I have the same catch can installed on my ride and have not had any problems. Even with my procharger I have not pushed out my dipstick. That would make me very concerned. The only thing my catch can has done is catch oil, which is a good thing. If you want I can tell you how mine is setup and we can compare the two.

Hey Brother,

If you run the line from the fill tube to the throttle body you are sucking air thru the breather into the throttle body that has not been accounted for by the MAF. This could potentially run a car dangerously lean and cause a lot of drivability problems and that is why you cannot run both a breather and the zip tube.

The same goes for the PCV valve with a breather. Under vacume you are drawing air thru the breather, into the crank case and then into the manifold, agian bypassing the mass air meter. The extra air has to go some where: Your Oil Dip Stick!

Try reverting it back to stock, so put your cap back on, make sure you PCV valve isn't stuck and is hooked up correctly, and try running it like that and see if it still happens. If it does, then you have some serious blow-by and Ill run a leak down test.

Again........I'm a Ford guy with just a little Chevy know-how......things are a bit diferent in the Chevy world!

Naz

Sounds like you need to do a engine leak down test.
