After extensive research in my boosted application and the pcv system it dawned on me as to why the old engine let go the way it did. For one the catch can I used (AMW) didn't feature a breather but that really didn't matter as I installed it wrong! I had the line coming off the passenger valve cover to the catch can and the 2nd line from the catch can to the TB! So any time under load I had mega pressure crankcase and no where to go thus blowing the dipstick tube and killing the rings. Catch can was supposed to be inline w/ the pcv valve and not the valve cover. DOH!

Costly mistake. LOL! Well I learned my lesson that's for sure. I never really understood the whole pcv thing but I've learned since then.

I'm not even chancing it w/ this setup. Procharger recommends a breather on the VC ( I'm running 3 :) ) and caping off the PCV line altogether but that would require welding the pcv port shut and that is not happening. The other end of the pcv line is capped off w/ a vac plug but the actual pcv line off the intake now is going to a vented catch can due to all that pressure under boost.

Just thought I'd share that a 200 dollar part and lack of knowledge caused an 11K disaster. :D

Ouch! Good to know you figured it out, and thanks for the info!
Thinking about putting a little PCV catch can in on mine (just a little inline fuel filter) to stop the oil ...

Hey you live and you learn. :D I miss that engine too but once I get around to firing this one up I'll know I won't miss much after that. :)

Good to know I coded minimum delay into the quartermile timing that will keep you from running the quarter in 0.001 second ;)

Thanks for sharing :)

If i ever think about selling all my cars so i can afford a 11k engine (which i can´t put in any car then, but, well..) i now know what not to do :P j/k

But that wormhole thing looks promising! As you only need mass for acceleration that should work for V6s, too!

I was just wondering how much boost exactly are we talking to attain "hyperspace"? Could this be achieved with NAWS? I have recently welded my floor pan in and I'm ready to move up to "Ludacris" speed!

Anyone remember that second movie joke?

I think that floor pan dropped in the 1st movie but can't remember the 2nd.
