Just incase anyone wants to know about the sock airbox on the Z28. If you have a Dremel with the cutting disk you can cut out the whole front of the Air Box and remove the plastic piece that connects to the side of the car. By doing this you alow more air into the system. It makes a noticable difference to throttle responce. If anyone want's to do this and are unsure you can ask and I will explain.

That sounds like the G2 airbox. It is better at bringing in the air, but go one further, throw that piece of crap plastic inlet tube away, and get some 5" (I used the orange colared one, when I did it) hose. This stuff is a fabric with wire coil construction. That will remove the real obstruction of the stock system, the inlet tube.

the above, along with removing the screen in the maf and relocating the IAT do more than people give credit for. IMHO

What I was trying to do is find a way to run 4inch pvc piping from the air box to the maf. That should be ultimate air flow.
