Hi,
I don't know what has my camaro.
I have an enormous problem with my engine since 2 or 3 months.
First my engine sound has change, sound is more deep I think.
secondly when I start, during 2 minutes engine runs good. But after (when I drice), I lose power. It's not my automatic transmission because it is in good condition.
My engine has 50% power. When I accelerate I have no power. When I stop my camaro's engine runs good. When I stop my car during 5 or 10 mn and I start, engine warm, I have the same problem, I lose power after 2 minutes. I think it's the knock sensor or distributor probelm.
An othre problem is that my temerature engine is high. Normaly the first fan must to run at 195°F and the second at 226°F. But my first fan begins to run at 222°F and the second fan never (with air cond. I have just 1 fan works. I know that second fan work because I have tested it.
Do you know what's the problem?

Thank you very much

Maybe a coolant sensor or O2 sensor.

I think you may have a weak ignition coil. When they get hot they tend to act up under a load.

Hi,
I have change my knock sensor but it was not the problem. Now I 'll change the ignition coil. I have read the 1991 shop manual and I tested this and I think it's my ignition coild.
I think you have true NXZ28, thank you.

Do you know how I can test my bille distributor please?

Hi,
I changed my O2 but I have the same problem. I lose power after 2 or 3 minutes. My spark plug have carbone deposite, Now my car drink 32 liters per 60 miles   . I think it's a fuel problem or maybe the canister, my billet distributor???
When I drive my engine has hesitations as far as 75 miles/hour, after 75 miles/h engine runs good and when I stoped it runs well.
It's a serious problem for me because I don't understand why I have this problem. I changed the distributor cap + rotor, spark plug, spark plug wire, knock sensor, CTS, fuel filter, O2,
Next week I'll go to see a friend and test the fuel pressure...
Thanks

ok, i'd check these things in this order:

1. Coil
2. plug wires
3. spark plugs
4. O2 sensor
5. ignition parts
6. ECM - check if there are any trouble codes
7. MAF

hmmm if anything comes to mind i'll add it later

1- Coil ingition ok and changed (MSD dual)
2- plug wires ok and changed (MSD 8.5mm)
3- spark plugs ok and changed (bosch HR9BP)
4- O2 ok and changed (bosh)
5- ignition parts, I must to test all
6- ECM, I have no code, I have tested
7- 1991 camaro have not MAF sensor

I really think that's a fuel problem. I must to test the fuel pressure.

check the fuel pressure, fuel pump could be damaged.
CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER - it might be clogged
check fuel injectors
how about the MAF/ MAP?
