I have a 91 RS. I swaped out my 305 for a 350 I havent done much with it yet but now I have a good deal on a LS 1 should I build up the 350 or swap out for the LS 1? I want to get at least 400hp. I just did a major install on the interior where I removed all the factory molding and plastic so the wood and fiberglass added about 200 lbs easy. So I want to build up the motor so I can have speed and sounds. Any advice you guy's have would be great.

You will need the wireing harness and computer. The best way is to have a donor car right there so you have everthing. It will get expensive if you buy one piece at a time. 500HP LS1 cost about $5000 so 400HP would be $2500 heads and medium cam. Best deal is 350HP with free mods. It is still expensive to pump up the LS1 because it is still kinda new. The LS1 has a wide powerband so it would be pretty good transplant.

I would use the money and build up the 350 you have. Im not saying the LS1 is bad at all, but the money would be streched out farther on mods for your current 350 and not on stuff to convert over to a LS1, if you know what I mean. I had the oppertunity to build up a LT1 or beef up my L98, and I went the way of the L98. Just my .02c though. See my sig for my mods, I spent about 3 G's

The TPI 350 or L98 is pushing 245 hp and 345 ftlbs stock. You'll notice thats more torque than the LT1 and LS1 stock. Im not saying its faster just thats its a stump puller of a motor on torque. I built my enging with TPIS help to make my combo as best I could. They told me this combo is worth 400 hp and 390/400 ftlbs at the flywheel, and my goal was to have a 400 hp car. So Im just as interested to see what my car will do this weekend.

Did you mix it or use it in a lawnmower? It is 110 octane race fuel!!! I am sure you could mow some big weeds with that fuel. If you still have it unmixed give it to Dave I will need it at Hockenheim. If you used it send the can and funds with Dave THANKS.

Randy I must say I was pretty impressed this weekend. I am glad one third gen came out strong. I been thinking alot about what route to go my 350 or LS1 If I go with a 383 stroker kit what else would you reccomend to get 400 hp or higher. I am thinking about going with the twisted wedge heads and edelbrock 650 under drive pullys but I need help to find out what else I should go with. I Have Headman headers and flowmaster catback already. HELP!!! JAZ

thanks Jaz, You could put together a 383 400 hp combo pretty cheap $3000 or so. You might find one at the race track this weekend already built. If you do not come I will keep my eyes open.

I was tinkering around looking for engine stuff/clutch when I found this site. They have some good stroker kits for cheap. Go figure, their site is called http://www.strokerkits.com. Found LT1 kit for $1500 and regular 350 kit for $1000!! Check them out.
