I finally came across some places that have fibre hoods and stuff here in Germany ... anyway, the one place has an IROC body set, which made me wonder - wasn't IROC third gen only? I've been trying to find any 2nd gen IROC pictures, but wasn't too sucessful ... though I've found references to "IROC-Z style hoods" on second gen Camaros ... !?

Chevrolet didn't have a model called IROC until like 86 or 87, I think. IROC was, however, a racing series that featured Camaros in the 70's and 80's. I just picked a "IROC" spoiler for my car, it resembles the kind the actual race cars had on them.
Let me know where you found that company. I'm interested in a fiberglass hood since they can't be shipped to APO.

Well, the guy I talked to today usually only makes the early 2nd gen parts, 70-72, no telling if he would do late 2nd gens ... He's going to send me some further infos ...
I checked with two other places, one doesn't have any (they'd order from the states), the other, http://www.kts.de, carries parts, but they seem to be pretty pricey ... (not that the parts would be cheap to start off with ...)

Hoods are the same from 1970-1981.

although no second gen IROCS were never made . They did have the series and it started with the second gens. I believe the first production IROC was in 85.

In fact, the hood of the 2nd Gen IROC is like the hood of the Z28, with the functionnal scoop. It's the same. Why? Because in IROC series, the body of the IROC camaro used to be the same like stock camaro except the front spoiler.
The camaro were introduced in IROC series in 1974... For 2nd Gen IROC means race cars only. The term of IROC for 3rd gen is to celebrate the series.
THE IROC HOOD IS THE Z28 HOOD WITH THE FUNCTIONNAL HOOD SCOOP

Camaro IROC-Zs were third gen only, they were built from 1985 - 1990. In 1990 Chevy didn't extend their contract with the IROC racing series.

In 1973, Roger Penske created an annual invitationoal series that pits a dozen (15 in reality)top drivers from the three major forms of motor racing. The International Race Of Champions (IROC) was born.
The first year (1973), there were 15 Porsche Carrera RSR. But the next year, the Camaro were choosen.
So from 1974 to 1981, IROC cars are only racing cars, not to use on road, but only on track races.
For 1985 to 1990, IROC were third gen only, but for production and for races. For a few seasons there were Dodge Daytona IROC/RT. And now actually Transam is the IROC car
