Just found a 79 Berlinetta - did they come with different choice of motors? The one I found has a 350 ... the car is white w/ black interior ... 215 wheels only, but ...
A bit fishy seems to be the mileage - only 69 thousand k's ... not too much for a 22 year old car ... he's asking DM 5900 ...

Trying to get the VIN now ...

According to the owner, the car probably needs a new driver door due to rust, most other parts of the car including floor and trunk should be in pretty good shape. Motor's supposed to be stock...

run away from the Berlinetta. Just my opinion, but the basic philosphy of that car was, ...we know that emissions have zapped the motor, so lets put every cool do-dad we can on the inside and people might not notice that it is a slug...

As a show/collector car, it may very well be worth it, as a daily tinker mobile I wouldnt bother, unless you have a ZZ4 crate motor and tranny laying around ;)

This is definitely not supposed to be a daily beater ... I'm trying to find a car for some modding and putting some power into ... that's why I'm more or less only looking at and for the ones with the 350 motors ... (and in contrast to the situation in the States, V8s to V6s are at best 1:1, and 350s are maybe only 20% of the older cars - usually even less ...). So - if anybody comes across a 350 F-Body for up to $2500-$3000 in the Stars&Stripes, let me know ... 2nd gen preferred...

hm ... according to this source:
http://www.geocities.com/nasty80z28/79b-3.html
the 79 Berlinetta should have a 4.1l motor ... !? Any comments?
Also, the 173hp the guy has given sound more like the Z28 ... http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro79.html

it should either have a 305 - 5.0ltr 135hp 245tq
or a 350 - 5.7ltr 170hp 270tq

in 1980 they had a 267cu motor avail (dont have math done, but that would be closer to a 4.1ltr - 125hp 215tq
