Put the car on the lift today ... pretty surprised by the overall pretty decent condition it is in after 22 years ... needs a couple places of welding, and the mufler's a mess (not rusted, but whoever built it must have used whatever was there ... ), but all in all it's a good buy ...
Anyway, I could use a set of bushings and stuff that goes with it for the front sway bars (more or less the whole set that connects the sway bar at the end) - anybody have them? Tony? I'd like to put them on before Oct 7th ...
Also, what DOT rating does the brake fluid have? We have to bleed the brakes, and probably have or want to replace the fluid ...
For the rest, like oil filter for the transmission, I won't mess around with before pulling the car apart ...
Oh, one more thing - I'm thinking about replacing the front end with a fibre/plastic front (either hood, or the whole thing including fenders) - who makes them? Should stay similar look as the original 2nd gen look ...

... and while we're at it (though not urgent, probably won't need or want that till spring) - who carries NOS kits for 2nd gen 350 engines?

Tore apart the instrument panel today ... looks like the rev instrument is roasted ... any of you 2nd gen strippers got one left over?

I have the full instrument cluster out of a 81 Z28 with Tach. Not sure if it'll fit, is your instrument panel straight or curved? Does yours have a Tach, Speedo, oil press, water temp, fuel and a clock? If yes, it'll probably work either way.
Harwood makes both Hoods and complete front ends for 2nd Gen. Camaros. NOS kits are pretty universal when it comes to 4bbl carb V8 engines, but you need someone who really knows what they're doing for installation (Tony) to run one without messing up your engine.

Not too sure about straight or curved, but it has two small gauges on the left (top is fuel), then speed and rpm (rpm has the oil lamp), and two or three small ones on the right ... the rpm meter has three contacts on the back ... when all else fails, I might just replace just it or add a new on the dash ... (this is how it looked after pulling the panel http://tux.insider.org/~garry/pics/0101_018.jpg) Quote: Harwood makes both Hoods and complete front ends for 2nd Gen. URL? My friend who has the car at his place now (where we are working on it) built a 700+ HP 'vette when he was still in Sweden ... and the motor didn't blow ... anyway, I'm planing on keeping the HP in a moderate range ...

Found one nice place, but the delivery would be a bit of a problem ... I guess they ship them directly from the manufacturer ... and I doubt they'll be able to send it APO ... Anybody know of a place selling them anywhere over here, maybe Netherlands or Sweden or so???

OK, after trying to go over the brakes today, I might need a front right caliper ... the screw for bleeding the brakes is broken off, and pretty tight apart from that ... I'll know by tomorrow if I need a replacement - Glen, Robin, Tony, anybody have a decent one flying around?

OK, saved it ... no need for another caliper ...

Anyway, no places around here seem to have replacement screws/whatever they are called for the front ... we got a pair for the rear brakes ...

The bleeding screws is not a problem, I can get you one. BTW...the exact same thing happened to me when I was bleeding my brakes. Welcome to the world of second generation Camaros!

Well, the screw was already broken ... guess that's what happens when they are not handled right (e.g., putting some copper paste on them, and having a rubber cap on top of it ...) Let me know if you have/got one, and I'll be down to pick it up ... need it before the 7th ... You don't happen to have parts for the front sway bar end links?

I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday next week and will have pretty much whatever you need as we're finally picking up that Z28 out of Bamberg on Tuesday morning. Bring tools!

OK, got the parts I really needed ... tnx to Glen & Robin for helping me find 'em ... Robin, I'll be making a list of parts I need ... if possible, bring the instrument panel you mentioned to Sembach ... or, if you see Glen before then, give it to him, he was coming Saturday already ... that way I might be able to put it in for Sunday

hey i just picked up a 79 t top car but i need a rear seat for it. Is there anyone that might have one they don't want anymore over here IN Europe? prefer Germany area as i live here.
I'm have plenty of time but would like to find some of the other interior parts also.
Just figured if any of you are going to be stripping out one for racing etc.. and are getting rid of parts you might have what i need for mine.
Thanks

Not necessarily, I know we had some spammer post replies to something like the first two or three posts ever, but we've had other old threads dug up before
