Anyone ever heard of anyone having problems with swaping out the rearend, like the entire axel, with one that has rotors instead of drums? This is a just one of the projects for the car, and I want to do it right.
Rob

Chris thanks for the info, that really helped. I guess I should have already been a member of that board. I just didn't ever look for a v6 board. That rocks. You will see me on there every once in a while. Are you selling your rearend? How much?
Sven, I didn't think you had drums on your Camaro. You have a Z28 right?

No problem - we V6 guys should stick together
I´m already member of that board since May 2001, I read a lot there but don´t post much. Some members there even put turbos on their 3.4, very impressing.
I don´t sell my rear end, except somebody would give me a Ford 9 inch for free
Perhaps you can get one cheap out of a totaled Euro-spec F-Body...?

How much is my rear worth US?
I MAY be looking to sell it when I can scrape up enough for a 12bolt....currently fresh and equiped with 4.10 gears that I have made 75 passes on.

Hey Rob I thought you already had a rear. If you still want one, I will still sell mine. No more BS, you can have it for $400.

Hey Dave, the wife picked up a rearend off of that Z that she got her tranny from. Isn't she great? But thanks for keeping me in mind. I just need to swap the gears so that I will have the 3.42s in there.

hey Rob,
Hope everything is fine and you are back from the land of little rain. I just had 3.42 GU6 gears put in my car from a wrecked camaro. I had them "professionally" installed but I am not so sure. I am having a problem where I get this clunka-clunka noise after I have been driving for a while that comes from the rear end. After talking to a few people about the problem it apears that the Pinion bolt may have come loose due to lack of thread lock. If you plan on changing the pinion seal be sure to count the threads and mark the relative position of all of the components before you remove it. When you reinstall be sure to use an ample amount of thread lock. There is never too much when it comes to this bolt! I am only hoping that my gears are not chewed up. I am going to be replacing the diff. with the eaton one that I had purchased while in germany. Best of luck in your indevour.
Chris

Z! How the F$ are you man? I thought you were out playing in the sand. We made it back from the Land of Kosher around the first week of this month. Looks like I will be coming over there some time at the end of the year. You make it out to the track much? You better be ready to play tourguide when I get there. Take care and keep in touch.

Rob,
I don't need to go half way around the world to play in the sand. I am in Bliss, I have all of the sand I will ever need. What the hell kinda name is Bliss anyway. Being here is anything but blissful. I would like to find the SOB that named it that so I could give him a swift kick in the pants. I haven't been to the track yet, but I am meeting a lot of people here that do. You might have your work cut out for you. There is a Maxima here that runs low 14's. That should be something in your ballpark with the ol' V6. Hope to here from you soon. Drop me a line at jcz76@hotmail.com
