Hi,

I own a 99 v6 camaro bought new. For some months, she acts weird (it came slowly) :

Each time I release the throttle, rpm drops down, but not to standard idle; it makes a "step" at 1200-1300 rpm for a few seconds, then goes down to 750 rpm.
I've noticed the colder the air and engine, the higher the "step" rpm.
Actually, my car acts as it was equipped with a carbureted engine with choke on, except the idle goes to 750rpm after a few seconds.
I thought of a throttle body leak, but it would do it every time.
I've checked my EGR valve, no leaks. PCV valve is clean and makes a clear sound when shaked. I've unmounted my throttle body and cleaned it with gas (after unmounting the maf). There was a thin black greasy residue in it, I think it's ok.
I don't have an obd2 tester to check if it's my electronic throttle that makes a pause before going back to idle.

I've got the camaro 93-02 parts manual (PDF), on the 99 V6 they show the IAC valve on the throttle body, passenger side; I've looked there and found nothing?? I searched for the IAC because it's often the cause of idle problems.

It's not a trans problem, my car does it in N or P...
If I start and don't accelerate, the idle always stays at 750rpm; I must accelerate to get the prob.

My car has 30 000 km on it.
No MIL light on.

If anybody has an idea, just let me know (this drives me crazy !!).

Thanx
