hi,

I have a 3.8V6 Camaro 2001, this is "European" Camaro with folded mirrors and other things.
It's my car since 2007, and i am the second owner, and she has only run 37.000 km.
till sofar the story.

I have a question about the exhaust muffler, my car has a single outlet exhaust (original one).
In America you could get on a V6 Camaro an option with RPO code Y87, in that option you get for example an exhaust muffler with double outlet.
My car has the option Y87, but has still a single outlet, i am sure this has something to do with European regulation.

My question is, is there any difference in the exhaust mufflers for the American market or the European market, is an American muffler quieter than an European one ?
I want to replace the exhaust (it's getting bad, because of the low km of the car), and i want to replace with the "American" muffler with double outlet.
This is GM partnumber for this muffler: GM 10306198

this is the picture:

this is the orginal exhaust on my Camaro:

No PV, the routing is all the same. as for decibles depending on how big of and exhaust you will get a more hollow sound with the V6 engine. Euro mufflers are normally quieter than US versions but the single Euro exhaust sounds good too and two pipes look better than a single. I would stay in the 2" range for an exhaust... I too have a Eurospec Camaro. Hope this helps!

Export version most likely only comes with the slightly more quiet single tip exhaust ... might have an extra dual exhaust available in case you're interested ...
