Got a bit of a prob. Ive never stumbled upon.....I wanted 2 mount my new HU in my 99er Camaro but its got an oem Amp in it ( Right rear side
behind the spare wheel). Ive been searching the web for wiring Harnesses but couldn`t find one that fits.

what options have I got ?? I talked 2 the lokal dealers and they just said that it is not a Bose sound system, but a premium sound package from gm......

Re-wiring and new speakers ?
Is it allready a somekind of digital-conection from Oem Radio 2 Amp?

Thanks for your help dudes!!!!!! :!: [/quote]

They are right, it is not a Bose system. It is a GM Delco Monsoon.

When I had my system done, I considered utilizing the factory wiring but decided against it. The stock wiring is fine for stock systems, but not at all suitable for aftermarket applications.

I know it is a pain in the b@lls to rewire but, it will be a much better system.

Nothing digital in the wiring, it is all analog:). I believe the factory wiring is 18awg, maybe 20awg, much to small for todays aftermarket amps.

Hope I helped!

Larry

Oh yea, look under Monsoon, then under both the camro and Firebird links, under Camaro you'll find the amp pinout, under the firebird you'll find the head unit pinout. The only difference is the firebird has a power antenna lead that can be used for a remote turn-on for an amp. I had do run a seperate wire for mine since I'm in a camaro. Good luck!
