1. LT4 stuff looks kewl
2. LT4 stuff sounds kewl
3. LT4 stuff costs kewl cash

okay, now for the real news

LT4 block off plates dont complete the job. They only provide for block off of the EGR pipe to intake, and EGR pipe to manifold. Not EGR to intake. LL (Lesson learned) cut EGR pipe with dremel/saw about 3 inches from end, and beat flat with hammer (I know redneck, but effective) and bolt to header

LT4 timing set is a cloyes single roller, and with thunders oversized crank gear fits tighter than the double roller did.

Double roller requires clearanceing on timeing cover. I didnt feel like doing this, and this is how I know about LT4 set ;)

FLP require a M18 drain plug in the A.I.R. fittings

FLP's only require O2 extension on pass side (6" should do it)
FLP cat/offroad pipe to other pipe thingy clamps suck azz. LL use a worm drive clamp to close the FLP clamps close enough to bolt togethor (you'll understand if you install 'em)

Just wanted to post, but there maybe some good stuff here for someone. I'll post more as I think of it
C'ya

Doesn't that dual cloyes chain only work with the 95+ timing covers ??

You have to have a 95+ timing cover and vented opti, and a new cam if 1994. Even with that you have to clearance it alittle bit. Not so much that it would bind up I dont think, and after the first start up the chain would actually clearance it for you, but I didnt like the idea of that many more aluminum shavings in the oil, so I went with a single roller in the end.

With a oversized crank gear the LT4 chain fits quite abit better (tighter) than the double roller did. But even if it was only for a day or so, that double roller looked pretty stout sitting on there...

Doesn't that oversized gear change the ratio ??
In other words, wouldn't that cam be spinning faster than it should ?

How much was that Lt4 chain set with that oversized sprocket ?
I believe the dual cloyes setup was about $90 including the chains and sprockets right ??

We're not talking a big differance between the gears, but enough to take additional slack out of the chain.

Mustgofaster finally reappered and actually offered a really sweet deal to customers that were caught up in this. Lifetime programing for free. But it was to late, cuz I already had my Ed Wright PCM.
Seems there was a death in the family, and other things that he had to resolve, and the business was put on hold. I dont think he's a crook, just someone with poor business skills.

So you ended up doing everything yourself? Would you do it again?

I think so. I pretty much know where the snags are, and the little things you need but arent told. Its just like headers. I've probably pulled the passenger header 3 times in the last week, so now a header install is no big deal.

if I did do a entire buildup again however, I would try to find a place where I could drop the engine out the bottom, instead of trying to mess with it in the car.

Do you have anymore of those plugs for the FLP's? Let me know. I am going to install mine in a few weeks and need some. Also, where do I get factory replacement 02's w/exntensions from? The GM dealer? I left mine by accident on my stock y-pipe back in GE. I need some new ones cause I have John's old ones on there and they are not made for the '96. Make the car run like crap at high rpm's. Thanks man, Mike

The plugs for the FLP's are a drain plug size M18. Any Autozone, Pep Boys, ...auto parts store will have 'em. As far as the O2 sensors, get the AC Delco's that it came with from a GM place, dont try to get them cheaper at a parts store (you may get lucky, but they didnt work right for me or other people I know). The extensions I'm not sure of, they were part of my FLP kit, but I would bet that a auto part store would have something that works. You'll only need one for the passenger side.

G'luck with the install
Rob

I did not know that. Mine may come with extensions also, I have not opened them yet. But I know where to get those. Thanks for the info. Mike
