Yep that is right 3 six speed transmissions in 4 years. Now that has got to be some sort of record. Hopefully in about 4 weeks it will be up and running with a new one in it compliments of GM Europe. Oh yeah and they're fixing that pesky pinion seal leak too. We'll see how long that lasts. One last thing ,I am buying that manual transmission cooler , it seems that this dexron can't seem to take the heat of extended triple digit auto bahn speeds too well.

How does the fluid flow through the cooler? Does it use a pump? That pinion seal won't last long at triple digit speed either.

Yep it uses an external pump and plumbs into the drain and fill plugs. Yeah I kinda figure the pinion seal will dump again. Quote: Wow, what do you do to that thing Roy??? :O I thought I was bad.. you guys all need to stop talking about transmissions. Everytime someone mentions somthing bad, my car decides to it can't be left out on the action. Roy all I can say is If I still had warranty I would milk it dry. That LS1 of yours is getting a little high on the miles isn't it time for a new one. got to love the warranty

So is the main problem the heat? Or do you have to build them up like the auto? Just curious if I should be worried with the added power I will have.

Your not gonna have enough power to hurt a healthy T56. If it will stand up to a powershifting Viper ACR, you should be okay. More of the extended abuse of racing/high speed.

Quote: Can you comment on how good the auto 4L60E is??? Jagsy The A4 is well built tranny ,but like any automatic heat is the number one killer for them. Basic rule of thumb for tranny fluid temp is 190-240 degrees F. Any lower temp and you could have T/C lockup problems. Any higher and you can get fluid viscosity breakdown and slippage. ////////////////////////////// Quote: Quote: So is the main problem the heat? Or do you have to build them up like the auto? Dave you should be good on the tranny ,I'd be more worried about the 10bolt rearend spitting a axle out and you get a free wheel tubbing compliments of c-clip Inc.. //////////////////////////////// Your not gonna have enough power to hurt a healthy T56. Rob you hit the nail right on the head, extended highspeed abuse. Whats racing ? I don't do that.
