Ok I didn't get flamed too bad. I have tried to rumble a few times on the autobahn against some of you guys I'm sure. The times I've tried I get no bites. Some dude in a black WS-6 tried to get something started but I had my two year old in the back seat. It killed me to stay out of it. Had a Porche turbo come runnin up on my ass one day while I was out lookin for some kills, but I didn't notice he wanted to play until I had already comitted to an exit off the autobahn. He woulda smoked me anyway because he was German and I wouldn't have been willing to breach the speed limit for any glory.

What's special about the WS-6 ?
What mods to F-body owners do most ?
What kinda top end you guys have ?

honestly, the price. No real big diff, except the look, the ram-air, and the coolness of saying I have a WS.6 or a SS instead of a run of the mill F-body. A full on WS.6/SS is going to bring more susp goodies to the party, but the same powertrain.

Same as you. Cat back, headers, CAI, shifter, etc.

A stockish LT1 should run 155-160mph

A LS1 probably could squeeze 165 (or a touch more) both cars are shaped like a school bus as far as drag is concerned, so that is why I'd only give a LS1 5+/- more mph.

Dude, I'm totally set up for auto-X and I wasn't on the sidelines the whole time last year. I raced a few times and realized I was just going to embarass myself. I spun my Pilot Sports just about all the way through the 1/8th. It sucked. A damn Honda smoked me! Anyway, in order for me to be somewhat competitive off the line in a drag race, I would obviously need a different suspension setup. Right now I've got linear lowering springs, Tokico 5-way illuminas, 18X9 SSR Intregals with Michelin Pilot Sports. I have absolutely zero weight tranfer to the rear. Not the hot setup for drag.
I've never really been a drag race kinda guy. It's hard on your drivetrain and tires. What I like is some "in gear fun"
I'm contemplating getting some 17X9's with some drag radials for the spring and setting my Tokicos to their lowest setting front and back.
Besides dude, do you really think it's much of a match? I mean you have a 5.7 Ltr I have a 4.6 liter. You have a torque arm-panhard rod setup (factory) and about 100 extra stump pullin' pounds of torque off the line. I have a 30 year old 4-link rear suspension just like what the old Ford Falcons had. I'm workin' on a solution for the antiquated 4-link I have but until then I think I'll still be traction impaired. Don't believe I'll ever have an answer for the torque difference even with an S-trim Vortech. I don't see that extra power until 4-7000 rpm anyway (centrifigal blower not positive displacement type)
Don't mean to sound wussfied dude but I have worked on and driven cars like yours and IMHO your standard ol GT or stock Cobra is no match without serious mods. I guess that's why you guys spend so much for your cars when you buy'em. Mustangs are cheaper but are much more lacking in the power and suspension dept.
What puzzels me is why some folks on this board are talkin smack about import kills. where's the challenge there???
What kinda car do you have? are you the dude in the black ws-6 with DR's?

Some of those import kills will be less this yr for some. They're good in 1/8th that's for sure. And while some are being turbo'd as we speak they may even give us more of a challenge. Never underestimate the challenger import or not. If it comes down to traction they'll smoke you.

Now I'd like to see the two of you on the Bahn, Hawk vs the Snake. I'm betting on the Snake. ;) Nothing like instigating........

Don't even think of comin after me Hawk I'm racing for slips (!@#$ the money!

I dont know what mods you have Chickenkiller, but on many occasions I have ridden in a 97 Vortech Cobra with 4.30's, full exhaust, Drag radials, ect. and man that thing flew. It was a low 11 car! I fully know the potential of a force fed 4 valve 4.6! My money is on you!

More instigating!:D

CenterForce Dual Friction clutch
Lightened flywheel
Bassani X-pipe w/ cats
Borla catback
Griffin all aluminum radiator
Accusump pre-oiler (no dry starts anymore)
Griggs Racing carbon fiber rear spoiler

It sounds like a good set-up. Anyhow mine is lowered also I just pull the front sway bar. If it is top speed I have been 184MPH courtesy Hypertech and had to clean my drawers afterward. Come on I am sure we could get something started bring your friends up to sembach. I have the black WU6 Formula firehawk/firechicken that was there last year but it feels a little quicker this year. LOL The fbody leaves alot to be desired I installed SFC's,New solid torque arm/w drive shaft safty loop strut tower brace and a autoX alignment ontop of the 1LE parts it came with. My air dyno says when I get it right 500+ RW HaPees with low 11's with 200+KPH trap speeds. Those are just numbers I am spouting off right now I can not back anything up yet do to lack of test and tune runs. I will secure the time slips this summer. If you do not want to play I will go find some Vipers to skin. I think the bigest part of racing is the driver. Hope to see ya soon

Sorry there Bruce NA 500rwhp is a pipe dream. Esp on 350 LS1 block. No one puts numbers like that down back in the US and they have access to all the tuners. You are right those are numbers.

I don't have any worries in my statements either. The money is fun but sometime you gotta put your money up and run what ya brung. But in all honesty I don't have a 2 car garage so the Hawk would be useless to me.....except for more parts for the ole' LT1. :)

We can do the bahn or track pick your poison. You may get me off the line and you should w/ a 9 inch but you'll loose some power because of it's weight. Myself and the weak rear will hinder my 5k dump. HOPEFULLY the 12 bolt will be in by July and the playin field will get interesting no doubt. eh-eh...............

Once I am ahead of you I will stay there!!! Let me confess for you misunderstood my post and I would really hate to take your car.J/K
My preferred poisen is 1/4 mile. If you want top end I know of only one empty a/bahn 6 hrs away. Now I could really could use your car, but I refuse to take your car in a race. (I know how much your car means to you) (it sure is a sweet offer though) maybe we could up the $$$$ so I could get more go fast parts from the win. We need a pre-determined distance. I am not saying I have the fastest/quickest car but I am willing to talk smack and back it up IE. line them up for some $$$!!! I just want to have fun and talk smack and not affend anybody.

Bruce I'm not offended. Just stirrin up my competitive juices so I can get this show on the road!. Top end is a no contest sorry there buddy. 1/4 will be fun and a close one @ best if you get me off the lights. I'd hate to run you down the way you run down Glen in the 1/4. ;) Which I'll do anyways.........c'mon we both know that!

I could always use some extra cash. I like havin my hand in your pocket but I know for certain you wallet will turn dry mighty fast messin w/ me. E-7 pay is great but it ain't that great! LOL :)
