Ok their has been a little bit of uncertainty about what was actually going on with my car. Here are the facts. The 383 short block is here and being built by Tony. I watched him and this German dude named Ben take 3.5 hours gapping rings (both upper and 2nd rings totalling 16). Everything is ready for final assembly and this will happen tommorrow. I am still waiting on the exhaust and it will definitely won't be here this week.
My secondary plan to get it running was to bolt back up the existing exhaust but I don't think that will happen. Plenty of time but Tony is too busy. 95 percent sure car will be non-oped on monday.

That really cool that its coming togethor.
Im still curious, I thought you had bought a complete shortblock. It came in pieces?
Also, if they are gonna be done with the motor, and its in the car, you should just put the exhaust pieces you have back on. Even if you have to redo the headers, it would be 4 hours well spent to have the car back.

Basically the reason I don't think it will happen is I don't think the motor will be 100% by sunday. Her is only working on it Thursday after work. So only about 3 hours or 4 tops. He has other plans on friday and saturday. So you see my delima when he is the only one working on it. I know without a doubt it will be done right, but he is TOO busy.

Glad to here everything is coming along. Sorry to here it will take longer than you thought, but like you said at least it will be done correctly. Plus, car shat always takes longer than you think it will. It's just one of those unwritten rules. Peace

So how did the assembly go w/ the K-frame? You gonna be there friday? I'll be up there tomorrow so maybe Ryan and myself will see you. Too bad you couldn't take no pics since I don't have access to Mecca anymore.
Good to hear about the progress too.

Man that k-member was a B*TCH!!! I got it changed out though. It took about 8 hours to remove the stocker and about 3 to put the new one on. It's amazing how much easier an impact wrench makes things. That thing takes up about 1/4 of the space.
As far as Friday, probably not since we aren't working on the car. I have to get everything straight tommorrow for ALS next week.
