What year is your car? You might want to run the RPO codes. Did that # come off the tranny itself?

yes they are from the tranny,

the car was 1995 5.7 camaro, guy whos selling the tranny said that. it looks like t56 , i`ve seen pics on net.

the tranny os out of the car. I`m asking because I cant lock to reverve, like there was no reverse. like it would be a 5+R. any ideas why?

what about these numbers?

Well this is what I found in the Chilton's Manual...

They put only one kind of 6-speed in the 5.7L V8 in the year of 94-95. The MM6 Borg-Warner Manual 6-speed.

The #s that you got off the side of the tranny will tell you the type, but it isn't listed in the Chilton's... I will check with a site tonight and get back with you on the results. Most of the #s are prolly the year code, julian date, and what shift it was made on (i.e. night shift or a day shift)
