If anyone knows about this stupid system can you please tell me where the "A" check valve is??? My car is throwing a new code.....after the whole electric fan incident..... and the code reads out to be "P0412.....Air switching valve A" If anyone could tell me WTF that is I would appreciate it..... since my local Chevy dealer is so less than helpfull.... of course they want me to bring the car in.... they can't just tell me where the F'n valve is! Thanks in advance for all of the help! Later!

Dont know exactly what your refering to, but if its a DTC that is leading you to the air pump, make sure you check the fuse for it. There is a TSB somewhere about this. Apparently the circuit is loaded to heavy, or a important component was used that is less than adequate, either way, the fuse blows out alot.
If it gets to be to big of a pain, jerk that SOB outta there. Shouldnt effect a IM240 test I wouldnt guess, because the airpump/smogpump is really only a asset on startup.

If you choose to remove it, its just a couple of bolts on the driver side cylinder head. The metal pipe that crosses over in front of the motor is kinda a pain, but you can fatigue the metal and it will eventually snap. Plug the hole on the CAI and weather pak or black tape the electrical connector. Thats about it. I have a write up with pics somewhere, (at work now) I'll try to hook you up with.

Hey, the wife's Z has the same problem. It keeps blowing a 20amp fuse under the hood that says air pump. If I remove the pump, will the SES light go out?
Rob... the other one

I took my airpump off 3 years ago and I have yet to get a DTC or a SES light. I suppose you could just unplug the connector to it, if you didnt want to take it off.
As far as loosing the SES light, just pop the fuse cover off that is on the left side of the dashboard, and pull the PCM fuse. Your car may idle kinda funny for a min or two, until the computer gets its brain back, but all trouble codes will be gone, and the SES will be off.

I beleive that would put your system in the limp home mode. But it will run just do not think it will be 100% solution.

Well just a little update... I don't know how I did it.. b ut the light is off and the car is running like a champ..... All I did was take the AIR relay out (since my fuse wasn't blown) and jumped it a few times to let the pump run for a min or two..... then I plugged in another relay I had (spare) and she works beautifully! It was either that or because I left the batt unplugged for about a day..... oh well I don't care it work now!!! Now I'll be off to the pontiac dealer this weekend to take a look at a few WS6's and a Fire Hawk!!!! Thanks for all of the help!

If your refering to my "take out the PCM fuse" thing, it was implied that you put the fuse back in . Just pull it to erase the PCM memory of long and short term DTC's.

lol rob is abosolutely correct once you find the problem pull the PCM fuse (I disconnect the battery cause Im too lazy to find the fuse) and reconnect it clearing the computers memory. Drive the car around the block and it will learn the Air Fuel mixture correctly again. However if you dont solve the problem the light will just come back on anyway.
